Geekrock & Bleedmusic Privacy Statement and Disclaimer

It is your choice as to when and how much personally identifiable information about yourself you choose to let us know. Geekrock will never wilfully disclose your details to any party outside Geekrock without your prior permission.

You can choose to tell us things that you want Geekrock to know about you, so that we can, in turn, provide you with an enhanced service (for example, if you want to use our gig email and mobile phone text messaging services (both coming soon), we will need to remember who you are). Each time such a service is provided, you will have the opportunity to cancel future use.

Cookies are currently not used on Geekrock. However Session Variables are – certain elements of the site need to store variables on your browser (for example, paging through sets of search results requires the code to know what your search criteria is from page to page). Session Variables will not work without Cookies enabled. Session Variables only last as long as your browser window is open, and time-out after twenty minutes of inactivity.

Our site advertisers provide the revenue that enables us to maintain and develop our service to you. We provide our advertisers with site-usage summary reports – “1,000 people clicked on your advertisement”, for example – as they require this information to determine how effective their advertising is. We will never tell our advertisers who it was that saw or clicked on their advertisements unless you have specifically told us this is acceptable.

To summarise, you choose what you want us to know about you, and we will only use what you provide in accordance with your instructions. Personal details are kept in strict privacy, and will be removed on your instruction – email the webmaster.

Geekrock runs on its own dedicated secure server with firewall and password protection. Where used, Credit Card data is further protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and transmitted using 128 bit encryption technology. Credit Card numbers are not at any point stored on our server. We will embrace enhanced technologies once these are proven and commercially available.
